• Do I need a cable or DSL broadband connection?
No. Bandlink works fine over a standard dial-up connection. Naturally
features such as streaming video and image or content download times will
be enhanced by high-speed connectivity but broadband is not a requirement
to use Bandlink.

• How are Bandlink CDs different from Enhanced CDs?
Enhanced CDs contain fixed content (ex. CD cover artwork or band
photos).
Bandlink CDs are Encoded with Special Software which provides users
with updated information about the artists (ex. the latest Band Photos
from "Last Night's Show" or perhaps a "Live Webcast"
concert. Bandlink also instantly connects you to other Bandlink users
via chat, to ensure a virtually different experience everytime you insert
a Bandlink CD into your PC.

• How are Bandlink CDs Updated?
The Musicians themselves can easily update all of their own CD content
using the Bandlink "CD Intelligence" content management tools. Everything
from photos, video, tour info and bonus songs can be instantly added.

• Why can't I see the CD songs on my PC?
All "Enhanced CDs" contain both CD Music, and "Data". Any PC
based CD Player software (or standard CD player Hardware, such as a car
stereo) will easily play the audio tracks. If you "Browse" your
CD ROM for CD songs, your PC will prefer to show you the "Bandlink
Software" so the best way to "See" the audio is either through
Bandlink itself or other CD player software like Windows Media Player.

• My PC can't read the CD?
PC: Make sure the disc is not warped, dirty or scratched. Give it some
time. Some CD-ROMs take some time to mount. You may need the right CD-ROM
driver to read multi-session discs, and it needs to be 100% multi-session
compatible. You may need to contact your manufacturer and see if there
are any updates for your drive.
Mac: Make sure the disc is not warped, dirty or scratched. Give it some
time. Some CD-ROMs take some time to mount. You will need the Apple CD-ROM
extensions version 5.11 or higher (look in your extensions folder in your
system folder). Make sure you booted with extensions on. You may need
the right CD-ROM driver to read multi-session discs, and it needs to be
100% multi-session compatible. You may need to contact your manufacturer
and see if there are any updates for your drive.

• How do I Remove Bandlink?
You can go to "Start>>>Programs>>>Bandlink>>>UnInstall"
to remove Bandlink.
You can also get to the Bandlink UnInstall here C:\Bandlink\BUnInstall.exe

• How do I make my old CD Player program the default player for my
CDs instead of Bandlink?
Open your program and go to (Windows Media Player) "Tools>>>Options>>>Formats>>>"
Select the "CD Audio" file type.
Other players will have an "Options" choice where you can do
this.

• When all else fails. . .
In general, we try to make the Bandlink experience as pleasurable to as
many people as possible. Undoubtedly there will be certain computer configurations
that will cause problems and not allow you to experience the full capabilities
of Bandlink. If you are one of these people, we are sorry. Bandlink does
not cost more than a regular CD, and you are still getting the music.

GENERAL USER FAQs
Go to Technical FAQs
• What is Bandlink CD Intelligence®
Bandlink CD Intelligence® software is an Internet-Powered audio CD technology
for the recording industry. It exists as software on a 'Bandlink-enabled'
CD and as an interactive multimedia experience on the Internet.

• Who uses the Bandlink product and service?
The service is created for the music and entertainment industry (specifically
recording artists and labels), which distributes Compact Disc (CD) media
and for fans who purchase the resulting CD product.

• How does it work?
CD Intelligence® software makes the connection between artists and
listeners by instantly launching an exclusive "Internet-Powered" CD experience.
It works in three simple steps: whenever a Bandlink-enabled audio CD is
inserted into a CD-drive, software embedded on the CD automatically checks
for a live Internet connection and launches the Bandlink service on the
PC screen. Listeners can play music tracks from the CD as well as gain
access to dynamic, interactive content such as bios, tour dates, lyrics,
synchronized playback between users and artist chat, all online.

• Is Bandlink a Web site?
Bandlink is CD-embedded software and not a Web site. Bandlink software
uses the Internet to fuel and display exclusive, ever changing content
via an online interactive console but does not link directly to any existing
artist or fan Web site.

• Do I need to sign up or register online to use the Bandlink service?
You will need to register for special Bandlink events, mailing lists,
promotions and personalized services.

• Will Bandlink Stop Music Piracy?
Bandlink is a CD Music "Enhancement" and is not intended as an anti-piracy
tool. Bandlink restricts all Bandlink experiences exclusively to "Owners"
of the actual CD. Bandlink will not work with MP3's or other "Single Song"
formats.

• Is my private information protected?
Yes! The Musicians themselves may wish to collect and use your information
to build mailing lists, enter you into contests or even more importantly
come to your town.

• Do I have to pay to use Bandlink?
The fan or end user of a Bandlink CD does not pay for use of Bandlink
software and service. The artist or label however, pays a license fee
to use Bandlink software and service.

• How can I demo the product?
You can visit the DEMO
section to see how Bandlink works or request a demo via email. Send
a Demo

• How can I get my band on Bandlink?
Contact our Sales Dept via email or phone at sales@bandlink.com
or tel. 404.817.8050 (Atlanta) and 212.730.2082 (New York).

• Is there any restriction on the music I can listen to, like copying
music tracks, for instance?
No, there is no restriction on the quality of sound nor access to
music on Bandlink-enabled CDs. Bandlink CDs can be enjoyed just like regular
music CDs.

• Where is the music I listen to actually located?
The music you listen to is on the CD you purchased.

• Can I create a play list?
Bandlink is not a digital music service so you cannot create play
lists.

• Will Bandlink play digital audio files such as MP3 and WMA?
No. You will need an external media player such as Windows Media
Player for these files.
